DescriptionMaster Lock Tri-ball Mount Product description This voluntary recall involves the Master Lock Tri-ball Mount trailer hitch model 2948AT. The recalled products do not have a date code on the draw bar but they do have a 10,000 lb rating stamp in the 6 centimetres (2 5/16 inches) hitch ball. Hazard identified The 6 centimetres (2 5/16 inches) hitch ball may not meet the 4,535 kilograms (10,000 lbs) SAE rating which could lead to failure of the weld at the base of the ball, posing a potential safety hazard to consumers. Neither Master Lock nor Health Canada have received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the Tri-Ball Mounts in Canada. Number sold Approximately 142 of the recalled Tri-Ball Mounts were sold into Canada. Time period sold The recalled Tri-Ball Mounts were sold from May 19, 2011 to September 15, 2011. Similar mounts shipped before May 19, 2011 are not affected by or included in this recall. Place of origin Manufactured in the United States.
