DescriptionFrigidaire Professional© Brand 1.6-Litre (56-Ounce) Glass Jar Blenders Product description This recall involves certain Frigidaire Professional© Brand 1.6-litre (56-ounce) Glass Jar Blenders, identified by model FPJB56B7MS, within serial range FFP 49 1203 00001 through FFP 49 1237 00974. The model and serial information is located on the underside of the motorized base. Hazard identified The blender’s blade shaft assembly can break during use, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. Frigidaire has received eight reports of incidents where the blade shaft assembly has broken during use. No injuries have been reported. Neither Health Canada nor Frigidaire has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these blenders in Canada. Number sold Approximately 614 units of the blenders were sold in Canada at major and online retailers. Time period sold The recalled blenders were sold from April 2012 to September 2013.   • Consumers should stop using the recalled blenders immediately and contact Frigidaire for instructions on returning the blenders for a free replacement blender.
  • For more information, consumers may contact Frigidaire toll-free at 1-888-747-7637 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. CST Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday, visit the firm’s website and click on Product Recall at the bottom of the page for more information or online and enter the blender’s serial number to determine if the blender is part of the recall. Consumers will be offered a new product out of the non-affected serial range.
  • Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
  • Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
